About Prison-ish

Prison-ish (Prison Sh*t) is a collaborative creation, heavily influenced by the first-hand understanding of not only Prison and Incarceration itself, but the broad range of misunderstandings associated with this topic. Driven by the realization that the general perception of Incarceration held by society is far from what is true, Prison-ish's mission is to provide a "factual-basis" to the public, who in turn must make their own determination.

On the surface, many associate Prison exclusively as a physical building where only the "bad" people go. This narrative is conditioned into society at the youngest of ages, therefore it is only logical to understand how and why such perceptions exist. Additionally it is enhanced by the fruits of political ambition. However, in reality it is these very misinformed opinions which create and propel division in our communities, acting as a counterweight to education, financial growth, mental healing, progress, and so much more.

We know better, and WE ARE better.

Prison-ish is a platform designed to provide a unique vantage point of incarceration and the "idea" of Prison. Of course there are bad apples in the bunch - as there are in all groupings - but Prison-ish seeks to minimize the negative effect of these "poisoned fruits" by highlighting the entirty - GOOD, bad and ugly.

An important component of Prison-ish is its outreach initiative. In order to change the narrative, Prison-ish must provide assistance where it is needed. As simple as providing accurate information to a loved one to assistance to an offender upon release, Prison-ish's mission is to be a reliable resource to the community.
